COMMERCIAL ASPHALT PAVING

New asphalt installation built for traffic, weight, and weather.

THE SERVICE.

Commercial asphalt paving is a structural project, not just a surface. Rought Asphalt & Paving installs new asphalt pavement for parking lots, private roads, and access drives throughout Lake Norman and Greater Charlotte — starting with the subgrade, drainage, and base preparation that determine how long the pavement actually lasts.

Every commercial paving project begins with a site evaluation. We review traffic loads (cars vs. delivery trucks vs. heavy equipment), drainage patterns, existing pavement condition, and access requirements before recommending a paving plan. That plan includes proper aggregate base thickness, asphalt lift thickness, and compaction standards matched to how your property is actually used.

Whether you're developing a new commercial site, expanding an existing lot, or replacing pavement that has reached the end of its life, we coordinate the work in phases so your business, tenants, and customers can keep moving.

WHY PROPERTY OWNERS CHOOSE ROUGHT.

01

Engineered for the loads you actually get

Base and asphalt thickness are specified for delivery trucks and service vehicles — not just sedans — so your pavement doesn't rut or fail early.

02

Phased scheduling that keeps you open

Large lots are paved in sections so tenants, customers, and deliveries continue while work happens. You get a schedule before we mobilize.

03

Drainage-first planning

Water is the #1 killer of asphalt. Grading and drainage are addressed during paving, not patched after problems appear.

04

One accountable crew

From milling to final rolling and striping coordination, one team handles the project — no finger-pointing between subcontractors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

How long does a commercial paving project take?+

Most parking lot paving projects are completed in 2–5 working days depending on size, base work required, and weather. Larger or phased projects are scheduled with you in advance so business operations continue.

Can you pave while our business stays open?+

Yes. We routinely phase commercial projects — paving one section at a time, maintaining access routes, and scheduling around your peak hours. Night and weekend work can be discussed for high-traffic properties.

How long before the new asphalt can handle traffic?+

Light vehicle traffic is typically fine within 24–48 hours of final compaction. We keep areas coned and taped until the asphalt has cooled and cured enough for your traffic loads.

Do you handle the striping after paving?+

Yes. Parking lot striping can be included in the same project so your lot is fully compliant and ready to use when we hand it back.
